The exhibition A Feast for the Eyes presents selections from the Art Museum’s collection of the works by the Young Artists of the Year from the 1980s to the 2020s. A diverse selection of paintings, sculptures, prints, media and commissioned art and photographs are on display. The selection of works emphasizes the diversity of techniques and modes of expression as well as the temporal breadth of the works. The artists include Eija-Liisa Ahtila and Maria Ruotsala, Esko Männikkö, Illusia Juvani, Kim Simonsson and Nanna Susi. The very different works are united by their originality, courage and skill.
The majority of the works in the exhibition have been acquired from the original Young Artist of the Year exhibitions. Many of the Young Artists of the Year have gone on to have impressive careers as visual artists internationally.
